It is possible to visit Ta Phin Village as part of a day trek or as a road trip by motorbike or jeep. For the latter option, see our ‗Road Trips: Ta Phin‘ (No. 3) itinerary. The following describes the trek to Ta Phin Village home of the Red Dao minority with their colourful traditional dress.
The start of our walk takes us through Sapa Town and around the lake before taking a trail along local paths and through rice fields to the Black H’mong Village of Ma Tra. We spend time looking around the vil – lage, home to the Black H’mong ethnic minority. We continue walking and stop at a suitable spot for our picnic lunch.
After lunch, we continue walking through beautiful scenery to the Red Dao village of Ta Phin. There is plenty of time to walk around the village and soak up the atmosphere. We take a car for the short journey back to Sapa.
